Our Story
Jinkers Farm was once a faraway dream, a "one day". In late 2024, Rachel and Pete decided now was the time. Their two kids were now living busy, independent lives in Canberra, and parental responsibilities were reducing. Rachel (master house hunter) sought out a property to make this dream come true, finally finding Jinkers Way. Despite some quirks, her mind was made up! Houses were sold, finances were sorted, challenges were overcome, and the property was bought.
Â
Jinkers Way, here they come! With help from friends near and far, vans, trailers, utes, big and little cars, furniture was moved, and things began to set in. They now had 40 acres of land, a beautiful creek, a unique house, a separate tiny home on a hill and an old caravan in the bush. Over 18 months, Rachel and Pete transformed not only the house, but the entire property at Jinkers Way into their own little piece of paradise. Project after project, Rachel's ideas seem endless, each one better than the last. From bathrooms and kitchens to sheds and orchards, if a project was set, her dad would be there with tools and a plan in hand.Â
The tiny house went up on Airbnb, with guests visiting frequently. The neighbour's lambs roamed in Jinker's front paddock, and a friendly horse, Toby, spent time in another. There was a plan to give Izzy and Teddy more permanent friends. Lola the lamb soon joined the family, from nappies and bottles to bleats and treats. From two pets to three, the farm family grows. Betty and Valentino were the next to see. Highland cows; the ultimate dream.Â
